专利说明:

Tag for valuables with warning and interactive feature.
Field of the Invention:
The invention relates to a marking device particularly suitable for the reduction of shrinkage and theft from shops, warehouses, exhibitions and the like, but also, for example, useful for example for checking and interactive purposes in connection with visitors to museums and exhibitions.
The invention comprises a mobile tag unit which combines a wireless transmitting unit which is in fixed communication with a central monitor unit, with a fastening unit containing an electric current conductor and a power supply unit, which after mounting cannot be removed from the labeled object without over-ripening or other form of destruction of the electrical conductor or power supply. The fastener unit is designed so that the tag unit is activated upon mounting on the protected object. In addition, the tag unit activates a warning when passing by sensors, for example, located at the entrance to the store or store.
Background of the Invention - Prior Art:
Stores and warehouses are often subject to theft and shrinkage in inventories, which naturally leads to financial losses and risk of delivery problems.
It is well known to label objects with labels that give rise to an alarm when the mark is carried past sensors located at exits from the premises.
These labels may be simple diode elements, RFID functional labels, contain a magnetostrictive device or otherwise be based on electromagnetic or radio frequency detection.
Of course, these alarms do not work if the mark is removed before the sensor is passed, as is well known that they can be rendered inactive by enclosing the object in a material that shields magnetism and / or radio waves.
It is also known to tag objects with tags with RFID function so that a reading unit with antennas located in the monitored area can alert if a tag has disappeared from the reading area. However, the reading distance for passive RFID tags without their own power supply is usually quite limited, so that a large number of antennas must be mounted to cover the monitored area and the majority of passive RFID tags have certain orientations where readability is poor, so one must expect a large number of false alarms from such a system. Further, the time elapsed between each time the reading device reads a given tag easily becomes very long in a repository that may contain many thousands of devices to be scanned individually.
Patent Application W02007147250 describes a system that uses active tags and alerts when tags disappear from the monitored area. However, the tags described are unnecessarily complicated to produce and can be expected to be relatively expensive.
Furthermore, tagging with tags containing a GPS device that gives alarm when the object is removed beyond a programmed area is well known. This type of labeling unit is expensive, it must necessarily have a power supply that, if the service life is longer than a few days, becomes large and heavy and can be prevented from alarm by removing power supply or wrapping in a material that shields radio waves.
Description of the present invention:
The invention relates to a marking device particularly suitable for the reduction of shrinkage and theft from shops, warehouses, exhibitions and the like, but also, for example, useful for, for example, control and interactive purposes in connection with visitors to museums, exhibitions and amusements.
The invention comprises a mobile tag unit which combines a wireless transmitting unit which is in fixed communication with a central monitor unit in a manner known per se, with a fastening unit containing at least one electric current conductor and a power supply unit which can be a chemical battery, a charged capacitor, a light or motion-activated device or any other element capable of providing sufficient current to the transmitter unit for the expected life of the label device and which, after mounting, cannot be removed from the labeled object without breaking the electrical conductor and thereby deactivating brand unit. The fastening unit is provided with electrical contact points which serve to activate the marking unit during mounting on the protected object. Preferably, the wireless transmitter unit is integrated into the fastener unit designed in such a way that the tag unit is first activated upon mounting on the protected object, but may also be of a reusable construction which is activated during mounting on the protected object with the fastener. The electrical connection for power supply and electrical conductors is established while attaching the fastener to the protected object, for example by connecting areas with electrically conductive adhesive or with electrical connectors located so that contact is formed during mounting on the protected object.
In this construction of a marking device for marking objects, a simple construction of the mark can be obtained, which can therefore be produced at low cost, long life of the marks in the unmounted state, since the electronic unit is first activated and starts using electricity for the final mounting on the marked object, a mark that can be made small enough to be used on small objects and on objects where a small mark for aesthetic reasons is preferred, a simple mounting as the mark can be designed so that it only has to be folded around the object or adhered to it and activated in connection with this adhesive. After activation, a warning function is obtained where warnings are transmitted both when passing through input sensors, removing the tag from the object, shielding for radio waves and removing the object through outputs that are not protected by warning sensors.
At the same time, a reading distance allowing coverage of a relatively large area with each receiving antenna will be easy to achieve.
Generally, the built-in communication unit will communicate by radio connection on a license-free frequency band such as the frequency band around 865MHz or 2.4GHz which is also used in many RFID applications, but other frequencies or even communications by infrared or audio signals are useful for the purpose .
In a preferred embodiment, the power supply will be a chemical battery capable of being sufficiently flat even for small light objects, but power supply with a charged accumulator, a charged super capacitor, or even a light-activated panel will be useful.
In a particular embodiment, the electronic communication unit is designed as a reusable unit where all electrical connections correspond to corresponding connections on the attachment unit so that the unit is activated in connection with the mounting on the protected object.

Fig. 5 shows an attachment unit (30) and a reusable communication unit (40) mounted on an extended object.
Description of the Invention: In the following, the invention is described in more detail with reference to the drawings:
Figure 1 shows the marking device (10) in unfolded condition from the side facing the protected object during use before mounting on a protected object (not shown). The marking device consists of a carrier film (5) which may be PET film, special paper or other electrically insulating material suitable for the production of labels. On this foil between the two opposite ends of the foil is provided an electrical conductor (2), for example, by printing with electrically conductive ink, evaporation of metal, etching from a metallized foil or otherwise known. The conductor (2) serves to connect a communication chip (1) which may be an RFID chip intended for use in active RFID tags, or another suitable communication chip with a power supply (4) shown here as a flat chemical battery, but may also be a charged accumulator, a charged capacitor or other suitable power source in series with two contact points (3) which, in the unmounted state, are not connected to anything other than the electrical conductor respectively from power supply (4) and from communication chip (1). ). Communication chip (1) and power supply (4) are connected to the electrical conductor (2) by adhesion with electrically conductive adhesive, soldering or otherwise known. The drawing also shows an electrically conductive antenna structure (8) connected to the communication chip (1).
In addition, the fastener shown may be provided with a signal generator of known type, e.g., diode unit, magnetostrictive unit or passive RFID unit, for signaling when passing sensors at the store or store inputs (not shown for the sake of clarity). the surface, except for a small area around the contact points (3) of the illustrated side of the marking device, is covered by an adhesive material (7) which, when adhering to itself, shows greater strength than the tear strength of the carrier foil (5). The marking device is mounted on a protected object (not shown) by folding around the fold line (9) shown in the drawing so that the adhesive side adheres to the adhesive side and the contact point touches the contact point.
The opposite side not shown can be used in the usual way for product claim, price declarations, goods declaration etc.
Figure 2 shows the marking device shown in Figs. 1 mounted on a protected object (6). Other designations are the same as given in FIG. 1. It will be seen that after mounting the two contact points (3) have come into contact and thereby have connected the current circuit through the electrical conductor (2), the communication unit (1) and the power supply (4) so that the tag unit has become active.
When attempting to remove the marking unit from the protected object, the carrier foil (5) will be torn over, thereby disconnecting the electrical conductor (2) and the marking device becoming inactive.
Figure 3 illustrates that a plurality of marking devices (10) as previously described mounted on a plurality of protected objects (6) are in constant communication with one or more central reading units (20) in a manner known per se.
Since the tag units are structured as active units, both read distance and read speed will be significantly higher than for passive RFID so that even with a large number of tagged subjects, substantial communication can be achieved without significant interruptions between each tag unit (10) and the central reading unit ( 20).
The central read device is connected to a server (21) over a network connection (22) which can be wired or wireless so that the server programmed to handle alarm calls to the outside world in otherwise well known manner as well as other communication content between the read device (20) and the individual tag units (10) can be placed so that alarms cannot be deactivated locally by disabling the server. For example, the server (21) may be located in a secured room, another building, or even be connected via an Internet connection to another country.
When interrupted in this fixed communication, the central reading unit / server is programmed to send a warning in a known and appropriate manner, for example by audio or light signals, sending SMS to one or more programmed telephone numbers or an alarm to a security company.
Figure 4 shows another embodiment of the tag device wherein the communication unit (40) is designed as a reusable unit provided with contact points (3A) for connection to the electrical conductor of the fastener (2) and power supply (4) as well as contact points for connection to the antenna structure (9A) of the fastener. The contact points are shown to be made in an asymmetric location to reduce the possibility of incorrect connection, to reduce it even more, it is of course also possible to carry out the entire communication unit in an asymmetric form corresponding to an asymmetric form of the fastener (not shown). The fastener (30) shown from the adhesive side (adhesive (7)) comprises a power supply (4) as previously described connected to an electrically conductive connection (2) which will be broken, thereby deactivating the marking device if the fastener (30) is removed from the protected object (not shown) after sticking and terminating at contact points (3) corresponding to contact points (3A) on the communication unit. Further, the attachment unit includes an antenna structure for the communication unit (8) terminated at contact points (9) which, after affixing the tag unit to the protected object, corresponds to contact points (9A) on the communication unit.
Fig. 5 shows a fragment comprising the central part of the label device with the communication unit (40) and a fragment of the fastener (30) after being adhered to a protected object (6). It will be seen that the contact points (3) connected to the electrical conductor (2) after attachment have contact with contact points (3A) on the communication unit so that it is activated by mounting on the protected object (6) and that the corresponding contact points for the antenna structure (9). ) has electrical contact with contact points for the antenna structure (9A) of the communication unit.
FIG. 6 shows yet another embodiment of the tag unit (50) wherein the communication unit (4) comprises a visual display (51) visible through a cutout or a clear part of the carrier foil (5). For example, display can be used to display interactive information about the protected object, to remotely update the price tag or any other information that can be communicated between the brand unit's communication unit (4) and the central read unit / server (20, 21 Fig. 3).
In addition, the carrier foil (5) may be provided with printed solid text (52) on the part visible after the adhesive on the protected object (6), which may include, for example, product claims, instructions for use, product declarations and illustrations. Incidentally, the numbers listed refer to the same functions as in FIG. 2
